CBT Comedy Show Features Top Comedic Talent
Get ready to laugh until your belly aches with a spectacular comedy show that's bound to be a highlight of your Coming Back Together (CBT) Reunion experience. The CBT 2024 Comedy Show will feature three top talents in comedy: the uniquely hilarious and multi-talented Roy Wood Jr., the most famous unfamous comedian Joey Vega and hilarious stand-up comic and actress Gina Brillon.
Known for his charismatic crankiness and side-splitting-stand up specials on Comedy Central, Wood has served as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and as host of Comedy Central’s award-winning podcast, The Daily Show: Beyond the Scenes. In spring 2023, he guest hosted The Daily Show and headlined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to its highest ratings since 2017. He was also nominated for an Emmy as producer for the PBS documentary The Neutral Ground.
Wood co-starred alongside Jon Hamm in Paramount Pictures' long-awaited Fletch remake, Confess, Fletch, and has had guest appearances in Only Murders in the Building, Better Call Saul, The Last O.G. and Space Force.
Also bringing his talent to the Comedy Show is the incredibly versatile Joey Vega, a comedian, actor and writer who blends humor with real-life observations in a way that will have you rolling in the aisles. Sure to be a familiar face, Vega served as Marc Anthony’s opening act for 21 years and was featured in the films Punchline and Rounders.
Rounding out the show is Bronx-born Puerto Rican comedian and actress Gina Brillon, best known for her award-winning Amazon Prime comedy special, The Floor is Lava. Brillon had a feature role in Gabriel Iglesias' theatrical film, The Fluffy Movie, and has made appearances on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, E!'s Chelsea Lately, AXS' Gotham Comedy Live, The View, Late Night with Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Her newest half hour special for HBO Latino, Easily Offended, is now streaming on all HBO digital platforms.
“These are remarkable comedians, and we are so fortunate to have this caliber of talent featured during CBT.,” says Miko Horn, director of special events in the Office of Multicultural Advancement. “This show is a not-to-be missed event.”
