CBT 2024 will be a star-studded affair, featuring top national talents throughout the weekend.

You won’t want to miss these celebrity guests:

The A Different World reunion tour cast featuring Darryl Bell ’85. Bell, who played Ron Johnson on the iconic show, reunited his castmates in a tour of historically Black colleges and universities to promote enrollment and raise scholarship funds for current and future students. As a special treat for his fellow Orange, Bell is bringing the tour to Syracuse University. In addition to Bell, Charnele Brown (Kimberly Reese), Jasmine Guy (Whitley Gilbert-Wayne), Kadeem Hardison (Dwayne Wayne), Dawnn Lewis (Jaleesa Vinson-Taylor), Cree Summer (Winifred Brooks), Glynn Turman (Col. Bradford Taylor), are expected to participate in a roundtable discussion on the impact of the show on Friday afternoon, with Sinbad (Walter Oakes) participating by video. 

Roy Wood Jr.Comedian Roy Wood Jr. will headline a gut-busting comedy show on Friday night. Known for his charismatic crankiness and side-splitting-stand up specials on Comedy Central, Wood has served as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s Emmy-nominated The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and as host of Comedy Central’s award-winning podcast, The Daily Show: Beyond the Scenes. In spring 2023, he was guest host of the The Daily Show and headlined the White House Correspondents’ Dinner to its highest ratings since 2017. He was also nominated for an Emmy as producer for the PBS documentary The Neutral Ground. The comedy show will also feature top comic talents Joey Vega and Connie Brillon.

DJ CamiloInternational Club King DJ Camilo will bringing his legendary spinning talents to CBT’s Friday night after party. Camilo made his name blending Latin urban music into the American radio market at New York’s HOT 97, becoming one of the first influential DJs to merge both demographics live on air. In late 2014, Camilo cemented his status as one of the country’s most in-demand DJs by signing to Roc Nation, becoming one of the first DJs to join the superstar talent roster. 

Angie MartinezRadio legend Angie Martinez, better known as the Voice of New York, will host the first-ever CBT Live! talk show on Saturday. Heard on New York’s Power 105.1, Miami’s The Beat 103.5, and her podcast Angie Martinez IRL, Martinez is a multimedia host respected and praised for her ability to get up-close and personal with larger-than-life personalities. She is also a Syracuse parent; her son Niko Ruffin ’25 is a business major and a guard on the Syracuse men’s basketball team.

Ana NavarroAna Navarro of ABC’s The View will be a featured guest at CBT Live. A Nicaraguan-American, she is a well-respected political strategist and commentator who has advised Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. John McCain and others. She is considered an expert on U.S. politics, Hispanic issues and Latin-American Affairs. The conversation between Martinez and Navarro is not to be missed!

Erica CampbellGospel Recording Artist Erica Campbell will be a featured performer during the CBT Worship Service on Sunday. Campbell launched her career in 1998 with her sister Tina Campbell as part of the group Mary Mary. She is a multi-award-winning singer/songwriter specializing in the urban contemporary gospel, Christian R&B and contemporary R&B genres.
“We have worked very hard to secure a talent lineup that will appeal to the whole range of attendees at CBT,” says Miko Horn, director of special events in the Office of Multicultural Advancement. “There’s something for everyone.”
