About the Program
Our Time Has Come (OTHC) Program
The Our Time Has Come (OTHC) Program at Syracuse University offers a transformative and holistic experience designed to foster academic success, professional growth, and community engagement. This program provides essential resources to help students excel during their time at the university and beyond.
A Legacy of Empowerment
Launched in 1987 by the Office of Multicultural Advancement, the OTHC Scholarship Program was established to support students at Syracuse University with an unmet financial need through endowed scholarships. Thanks to the generosity of Syracuse alumni, friends, foundations, and corporations, OTHC has grown to over 80 named scholarships. However, as the scholarship program expanded, the need for additional support in students' professional and personal development became clear, so a leadership component was added to the program in 2017.
Expanding Opportunities for Success
In 2021, the OTHC Program was further expanded to ensure more students, regardless of their financial eligibility for scholarships, could benefit from this vital community. This evolution transformed the OTHC Program into a comprehensive initiative that supports students through leadership development, mentorship, and career guidance. The OTHC Program is now an inclusive, community-driven experience that enhances academic performance, promotes retention, and fosters success after graduation.
